Short, fun chapter book for children age 6 up to 10. Good for readers in grades 2-5.
A long time ago, in an ancient city called Rome, there lived a boy called Farticus Stinkamus. Actually, his real name was Julius Flaccus but almost everyone called him Farticus because of his amazing ability to blow the loudest, most earth shattering farts ever known to mankind! From tiny toots, to roaring rippers to silent but violent, Farticus’s farting talents became known far and wide.
Although Farticus’s brother, Cesar, thinks it is cool that his brother is a farting machine, his mother and sister, Octavia, are mortified. However, Farticus helps Octavia in a big way and she begins to have a change of heart. Farticus also discovers a new talent which thrills all of Rome and spreads his reputation far and wide.
Follow Farticus and laugh along at his farty adventures!

Farticus Stinkamus edition by Kate Clary Children eBooks Reviews
Grandkids loved it and laughed so hard
I liked it as much or even more than my eight years old girls. Nice bed time story for younger kids as well.
The kids laughed so hard at this story that I had to pause reading throughout the book. They also loved the exciting chariot race!
This book was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so funny! I would recomend it to grades 1-2 but im in grade 5 and i still find it funny! Can you write more?
Borrowing heavily from Plutarch's Lives of the Roman Emperors, Clary presents an epic saga of early Imperial Rome. Following the life of a young politician, Julius Flaccus as he navigates the cursus honorum, Clary presents the reader with the stench of corruption that pervaded all of Rome during this tumultuous time. The author depicts a gritty, urban Rome that invokes images of the HBO series. We follow Julius from the battlefields of Germania, to the brothels of Herakleopolis Magna, and finally, within the secretive chambers of the Senate, as he plots, chokes, and poisons his way to power. Flaccus is an excellent example of the antihero who is always followed by a dark cloud. While I thought his relationship with his sister Octavia was too similar to the quasi-incestuous relationship between Commodus and his sister as depicted in Gladiator, I recognize it as the beloved "decadent Rome" trope of historical fiction. In summary, Clary delights her readers with thrilling political/military intrigue while providing enough historical accuracy to keep any Oxbridge Classicist smiling.
For Rome as it was, read Farticus Stinkamus.
